Merry Christmas!

**Update: The flash thing never seemed to work anywhere but on my computer, so a year later, here I am to fix it. Copy this http://www.angelfire.com/pa5/ckvworks/extra/betterwatchout.swf and paste it into your browser (sorry, the link isn't working). Also, screenshots (if this attempt doesn't work either).

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope everyone has an awesome holiday! This is a christmas card i did in flash, modeled after those old "choose your own adventure" books. Hope you enjoy it.

Also, here's a few songs for the holidays that've been heavy on my holiday listening rotation - just for you!
Built to Spill - Linus and Lucy
The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don't Want to Fight Tonight)
Rooney - Merry XMas Everybody

Weekly Sketch #7: PBF Homage

This week was Paul's idea: drawing a cartoon in the style of the awesome PBF. Being that it's christmastime, I chose it as a theme. Also because its christmastime, I'm busy as hell and couldn't make this very funny.

Weekly Sketch #6: Even More Painful Than It Looks

This week's my idea - kinda cartoonish and slapstick (and with a 20 minute time limit). I was inspired by this. And so what if this isn't particularly funny... or well drawn... and i went over the time limit with the color... but wasn't that episode of the Simpsons good?

Weekly Sketch #5: Farmer Fighter II Turbo

This one I did everything digitally - sketching and all. And I also tried using existing textures for something new. As for the fight, my money's on the weird looking one.

Weekly Sketch #4: God of Rock

This week's concept was mine, "The God of Rock". At first, I wanted to try a multi-armed Vishnu playing drums, but I realised drums are hard to draw. So here's what I came up with. Mount Olympus.. Are you ready to ROCK!!!

Smyth

A poster/flyer for my friends' awesome band, Smyth. Check them out at smythmusic.com and if you're in the NYC area on November 30th, do yourself a favor and see them live.

Weekly Sketch #3: Cartoons At Their Lowest

This week was Paul's idea: cartoon characters at their lowest. I thought up two decent ideas, so here they are. Take that happy childhood memories! haha

Weekly Sketch #1: Rhinoman Mows the Lawn

Charlie and I decided it'd be cool to pick a topic that we'd both draw our own interpretations of and see what each other came up with. The first topic? A Rhinoman mowing the lawn. So here's my take, and believe you me, mowing the serengetti is a bitch of a job.

Happy Halloween!

The best Simpsons halloween segment ever, with possibly the funniest line in the show's history. Guess the line and win a prize.

Older Stuff

These are from back in Kutztown, before I discovered photoshop and ctrl+z, I actually drew with markers, colored pencils and painted. I have a feeling that'll turn into a "I had to walk to school everyday in the snow, uphill both ways" kind of story over time, haha. Anyway, despite a lack of me drawing anything currently, I thought I could at least share some decent old stuff.

New Content!!

Here's the team photo of my kickass dodgeball team, the Ballzaxx. We're 4-2 through the regular season and looking to make some noise in the world of intermural sports and free beer.

I was little Pete Wrigley for Halloween this year. Might've been a bit too obscure, but I was glad that a few people I met knew who the hell I was, haha. I drew Petunia on my own arm with Sharpies, and making her dance became funnier and funnier as I got drunker and drunker.

And here's Brandon, he cut up an infant-sized "Dragonsaurus" costume. It was pretty hilarious.

Gulliver Dog

My work-in-progress entry to Dog Days of Animation. I'm probably going to color it, since that's what all the kids are doing these days.

What Kate Did

Lost is starting up again tomorrow! This is based on one of the episodes, I envisioned it to be one of those Indiana Jones styled movie poster layouts. I just threw down these preliminary colors; might finish it later on.

Dragon Demise

Something new, it was fun playing around with the traditional japanese style. And I don't draw dragons much - so please forgive me if it looks horrible. More detail to be added on the dragon later - probably scales or something. If you're good, maybe I'll throw in a background too.

Here's a sketch I did that I decided to take a little further. I might refine some of the background elements later.

Work Stuff

It's been a while since I've posted anything new, so here's a sampling of some of the work I get paid to do.

These are for a brochure I did for a concert series my employer hosts during the summer. The piece is also a functioning calendar, allowing it to be more useful and in turn, making it more visible.

A clothing tag for a golf shirt giveaway - to promote the new Wellington condominiums. I worked on the design of the website too: www.wellingtonone.com

A little less pretty, a little more functional. I do a ton of ad work and even when it's crammed with information like this one, I do my best to make it look good.

Another concert promo piece, this time for Octoberfest. This concept was actually one of the rejects from the Summer Concerts that I really liked, then I just made the bright green summer tree an orange fall one. This is a trifold, so what you think is just a tree is revealed to also be the guitar once you open it.

Crazy-Ass Storm of 2006

On Friday night/Saturday morning, this super fast and concentrated storm came through the King of Prussia area, which I completely slept through after the power went out. Woke up on Saturday and saw all this, so I snapped some cool pictures. Gawk at nature's powerful destruction below. Neato!

That's my car, thankfully the big branch decided not to park itself through my windsheild.
